Call For Applications: TECH Fort Worth Impact Awards

TECH Fort Worth, a business and technology incubator that I wrote about previously here, is now accepting applications for its Impact Awards.
The IMPACT Awards will recognize new companies that will better our world through the commercialization of new technologies. The awards will be granted to start-up ventures commercializing innovative products or services that will have a significant impact on our environment, health, and/or global community. The awards will also increase awareness to the local community about the entrepreneurial activity taking place in North Texas. In addition, the IMPACT Awards will raise funds to provide TCU entrepreneurship students with scholarships and support business incubation programs at TECH Fort Worth.
Impacting Our Environment

· Recycle / reduce / eliminate waste

Impacting Our Community
· Improving education
· Increasing safety and security
· Enhancing connectivity
Impacting Our Health
· New drugs and treatments for disease
· Earlier detection and diagnosis
· Improvements to medical care
Applying Companies:
· Eligible applicants are early-stage businesses with an innovative product or service which will have a significant impact on our environment, our community or our health.
· Applicants will need to be available to present to the judging panel during the week of March 23rd. Exact dates and times to be scheduled.
· Award winners must be available for presentation coaching by TCU’s Center for Professional Communications during the week of April 20th, 2009 and be available to present a five minute pitch on their company’s future impact at the IMPACT Awards Luncheon on May 5th, 2009.
Why Apply?
· Finalists - Recognition in a Fort Worth Business Press publication. Company summaries will be listed in the publication. Promotion in event media coverage, event website and event collateral. Two complimentary tickets to the IMPACT Awards Luncheon.
· Award Winners - Presentation coaching from the TCU Center for Professional Communications. Company presentation in front of an audience of over 300 professionals including venture capitalists, angel investors, business coaches, industry experts, and fellow entrepreneurs at the IMPACT Awards Luncheon on May 5th, 2009. An IMPACT Award to display in their place of business.

Please complete the application form. The form must be submitted with a one-page executive summary and a one-page statement of impact. Companies may apply for only one impact category (environment, community, or health). Information submitted with this application should be non-confidential.
